The TipCharger™ System
The TipCharger System will revolutionize your liquid handling processes – it will speed your run time, produce high quality results without contamination, and, importantly, generate no hazardous waste.
Automated fluid handling systems currently employ either a wash station using a solvent or solvent mixture, or disposable plastic tips. Recognizing the inherent cost, disposal, and contamination problems caused by these procedures and processes, Cerionx developed an alternative and superior method for cleaning pipetting devices using plasma technology. The System is provided under annual service agreements that save time and money.
The System components easily and permanently replace existing solvent wash stations and disposable pipet tip transfer stations. The TipCharger System integrates into existing as well as new automation, and installation is quick and easy.
The TipCharger System includes 3 basic components: the Cleaning Station, the Controller Module and the User Interface. Plasma is created in the self-cleaning, inert chamber (Cleaning Station) that comes into contact with the pipet tips. The User Interface is a handheld device that allows the operator full control over the system.
The System is currently available in 8, 96 and 384 SBS-standardized formats; the 1536 format, specifically designed to meet high density pin tool cleaning requirements, is currently in development.
